| This neighbor of mine (he lives a couple apartment buildings away) frequently
sits outside our apartment on sunny days and greets everyone who passes by
with a smile and a warm and enthusiastic, but unintelligible, greeting
(I think he mostly speaks in Italian). Brian and I occasionally get to
speak a few sentences with him and each side is able to make out words
here and there; he has told Brian that he was an Italian in World War II,
his wife is from Ohio, and he lives here with his daughter. |
